Moray MacLennan

Moray MacLennan
president of the IPA and chairman of Europe at M&C Saatchi

Moray began in advertising as a Graduate Trainee at Saatchi & Saatchi in 1983, having studied law at Christ’s College, Cambridge.

Whilst at Saatchi & Saatchi he was a worldwide board account director across a range of major national and international accounts. He was made managing director in 1993.

He left the agency with Maurice and Charles in 1995 to help found M&C Saatchi as chief executive, UK.

Moray is currently chairman (Europe) of M&C Saatchi (offices in London, Paris, Berlin and Madrid) and is responsible for all its group companies including Lida (DM), Talk PR, Sport & Entertainment and Play (Digital). He was elected IPA president in April 2007.


Alison Burns

Alison Burns
CEO of JWT

Alison began her career at BMP DDB, then BBH working on accounts such as Channel 4, the Guardian and Nestlé. After 10 years in London she was lured to the US where she spent three years as VP marketing for Pepsico working on the global Pizza Hut and the domestic Fountain Beverage Division. After a brief ‘baby break’, she returned to the world of work in spectacular style as the president of Fallon New York, quadrupling the Agency's revenues and winning some fantastic pieces of business including L'Oreal, Pepsico, Timberland, Starbucks and MTV Networks to name a few.

After five years at Fallon, Alison worked as a branding and communications consultant providing both Agencies and Clients with advice on brand development, positioning and marketing for brands including Kraft, Motorola and Yahoo!

Alison returned with her family to London as JWT London CEO in February 2006.



Phil Rumbol

Phil Rumbol is Cadbury Trebor Bassett marketing director, managing brands such as Cadbury Dairy Milk, Flake, Cadbury Creme Egg, Bassett’s Liquorice Allsorts and Trebor Extra Strong Mints.

Since joining CTB in 2006, he has been responsible for groundbreaking advertising campaigns, such as the award-winning Cadbury Dairy Milk 'Gorilla', along with the successful introduction of Trident chewing gum into the UK.  He has also overseen the launch of the Natural Confectionery Company, the signing of singer Joss Stone as the face of Flake and the much-publicised return of Wispa to popular acclaim.

Phil, joined Cadbury Schweppes from Inbev where he held the position of UK marketing director, brands and managed such household names as Stella Artois, Boddington’s, Beck’s and Murphy’s.  In this role he was responsible for overseeing such successful campaigns as Stella's ‘Reassuringly Expensive’ advertising.

Phil has also managed brands such as Toblerone and Dime brands at Kraft Foods and gained his marketing apprenticeship while working on Hovis, Windmill and Mother’s Pride at Rank Hovis McDougall.


Lindasy Nuttall

Lindsay Nuttall

Lindsay is the head of marketing for all factual TV output across the BBC and two of the BBC’s major mainstream television brands – BBC2 and BBC4. Since joining the BBC in June 2007 she has produced many significant and innovative campaigns, including ‘White’ for BBC2 and ‘Medieval’ for BBC4 – both celebrated by the industry for their creativity and impact.

Before joining the BBC, Lindsay spent 7 years at Channel 4 where she was responsible for the launch and brand management of E4 and More4 along with several series of Big Brother. Her final campaign for Channel 4 was the innovative launch of the youth drama Skins which received three IPA awards (including `Best New Learning'), a MEGA (Media Guardian Innovation Award) and a Bafta.

Lindsay started her career in FMCG marketing at Rank Hovis McDougall on the Hovis brand. She was named the Marketing Society’s ‘Young Marketer of the Year 2008’ earlier this month.
