This event has now taken place.

Winners from the hotly contested Marketing Society Awards for Excellence take the stage to deliver their cases to you, the audience, and a panel of expert marketers from this year’s judging panel.

The judging panel is chaired by Nigel Walley, founder and managing partner of Decipher and will include Scott Gallacher, director of online and partner marketing of the BSkyB Group, Jennelle Tilling, vice president of marketing at KFC and Dominic Grounsell, marketing director for Capital One UK .

The session will not only go through the winning cases but we will discuss the issues raised by the cases and the learning for the industry as a whole. Specifically:

        • Latest thinking on digital communications
        • Marketing capability development
        • The effective use of marketing partners

Our examples of excellence are Dr Kerris Bright, Global CMO, ICI Paints /Akzo Nobel, Angela Willmott, UK marketing director, Mars, Cameron Saunders, head of marketing, Channel 4.

Presenting on the ICI Paints entry: Winner of the overall Grand Prix and Marketing Capability Award. The judges decided that ICI Paints not only established itself as global leader, but pushed the boundaries of what marketing can achieve more than any other entry.

Presenting on the marketing for Dove/Galaxy: Won the International Brand Award for their entry “Building a billion dollar brand”. Using clear customer insight across many territories and creating a strategy around it, the brand increased value by more than 40% globally over three years.

Presenting on their Digital Channel entry, including content on the “Skins” case which was one of the TV highlights of the year: Strategic promotional planning was key to the series achieving an audience six times bigger than the average for its slot. Successful promotional strategies for Shameless, Cutting Edge and other Channel 4 programmes are included in the case.
