Rob has led significant executive development initiatives in Europe, North America and Asia. His work has covered a range of industries with a focus on leadership, change and corporate performance. Clients have included Heineken, Roche, KPMG, Sonae, Unilever, Legal and General, MLIM and Nestle.

Rob has published ten books and over 50 articles in the areas of entrepreneurship, managerial careers, organisation design and corporate culture. These include Women in Charge (1985); Entrepreneurship in Europe (1987); Reluctant Managers (1989); Corporate Realities (1995) and The Character of a Corporation (2nd ed. 2003). His lead article in Harvard Business Review, "Why should anyone be led by you?" won the McKinsey Award for best article published in 2000. This theme is developed in a book published by Harvard Business School Press in February 2006.
